In June of 1983, the Diabetes & Glandular Disease Research Center conducted its first Clinical Trial of an Investigational New Drug, commonly referred to as a research study. Since then, we have conducted over 500 studies. All studies are conducted in accordance with FDA rules and regulations and follow FDA approved protocols under the supervision of a major pharmaceutical company. These studies are an important part of our overall patient care. They provide us with the newest information on the effective treatment and management of endocrine diseases. In addition, the patient receives free state-of-the-art health care, pertaining to the study without any costs. Our Research Center currently consists of two teams working under the direction of our physicians, each is managed by a Registered Nurse and staffed by at least five other Registered Nurses and other medical personnel. In addition, the teams are supported by a Physicians Assistant and a Nurse Practitioner, both being dedicated to research, education, and our physicians. All of the studies we undertake are in the area of our expertise, Endocrinology, which includes diabetes mellitus, retinopathy, neuropathy, osteoporosis, cholesterol, menopause and nephropathy, among others. |
