The Diabetes and Glandular Disease Clinic, P.A. acknowledges the importance of patient education as an integral part of the proper care of patients with diabetes. We have been providing this to our patients for many years.
Our Education Center is recognized by the ADA — the largest and most widely known organization in the field of diabetes — as offering quality diabetes self-management education that is an essential component of effective diabetes treatment.
The mission of the Education Center at the Diabetes & Glandular Disease Clinic, P.A. is to empower patients living with diabetes by providing quality, comprehensive diabetes self-management education to help patients control their disease, avoid complications, and achieve optimum health.
Our team of diabetes educators helps patients to develop diabetes management skills to live a healthier life. The program includes curricula offered both individually and as a group learning series. Classes are taught in group sessions, which allow patients to ask questions, share ideas, and participate with a community of individuals that are learning from similar experiences in a relaxed environment. Family members are encouraged to be involved in the patient’s learning process in order to give additional support to the patient.
Services at the Education Center include:
- Instruction in blood sugar monitoring and managing medications
